WATER & PUMPING SYSTEM ENERGY AUDITS

Pumping System Energy
Audits & Optimisation

Measure. Diagnose. Optimise.
Reduce Energy Consumption.

Nexurja provides specialised energy audits of pumps and pumping systems for municipal water supply, sewage, industrial utilities, commercial facilities and large water infrastructure.

Our approach combines hydraulic measurements, electrical measurements and pump-system analysis to identify inefficient operating conditions, inappropriate pump selection, excessive system resistance and opportunities for energy savings.

Pumping System Energy Audits & Optimisation

SPECIALISED EXPERTISE IN PUMPING SYSTEMS

From Pump Efficiency to Complete Hydraulic-System Performance

A pump cannot be evaluated effectively by looking at its nameplate alone.

Nexurja evaluates the pump, motor, piping system and operating conditions together to determine actual system performance.

We Assess

  • Pump flow and discharge pressure
  • Head and hydraulic performance
  • Motor electrical input
  • Pump and motor efficiency
  • Specific energy consumption
  • Pump loading
  • Pump operating point
  • Pipeline and friction losses
  • Throttling and control losses
  • Parallel pump operation
  • Pump selection and sizing
  • VFD/VSD opportunities
  • Operating schedules
  • Energy-saving potential
  • Investment and payback

HOW WE AUDIT A PUMPING SYSTEM

01 — MEASURE

Flow, pressure/head and electrical power are measured under actual operating conditions.

02 — ANALYSE

Actual performance is compared with design conditions, pump curves and operating requirements.

03 — IDENTIFY LOSSES

We investigate inefficient pumps, oversized pumps, throttling, excessive friction losses, inappropriate pipe sizing and operating practices.

04 — DEVELOP SOLUTIONS

Recommendations may include pump replacement, re-selection, impeller modification, VFD/VSD application, pump sequencing, pipeline improvements and operating optimisation.

05 — QUANTIFY THE BUSINESS CASE

Energy savings, annual cost savings, investment and payback are evaluated for major recommendations.

EXPERIENCE FROM ACADEMIA TO FIELD
APPLICATION

Pumping-System Expertise Developed Through Engineering Practice

Jaspal Singh Aujla’s experience with pumping systems began during his academic career at Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET), Longowal, where he served as Lecturer and subsequently Assistant Professor in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering for more than 14 years. About Nexurja Energy – Consulta…

During his tenure at SLIET, he also undertook a study of the institute’s pumping systems, providing practical experience in evaluating pump performance and energy efficiency within an institutional water-supply system.

This academic and field experience has evolved into Nexurja’s present approach to measurement-based pumping-system energy audits and optimisation.

From Pump Study to Energy Audit

Academic Engineering → Pumping-System Analysis → Field Measurements → Energy Efficiency → Investment Evaluation

FIELD EXPERIENCE IN WATER & PUMPING
SYSTEMS

Nexurja’s pumping-system expertise includes assessments of municipal water-supply and large pumping infrastructure.

Jaipur Water Pumping Systems

A detailed study of SFS and Varun Path pumping stations included submersible and booster pumps, assessment of flow, head and electrical performance, pump efficiency evaluation and identification of energy-saving opportunities. The study developed pump-wise savings, investment and payback calculations.

Itanagar Water Pumping Station

The pumping-system study covered Jackwell, Clear Water Reservoir and Booster pumps, with simultaneous flow, pressure and power measurements used to evaluate pump efficiency, loading and specific energy consumption.

The resulting recommendations included energy-efficient pump replacement and VSD applications, with savings and payback evaluated for each intervention.
